The road to Tuscany
From the Brenner Pass, the classic motorway route runs almost continuously to Lucca. The sequence is simple: A13, A22, A1 and finally A11. Allow enough time for breaks and check current traffic conditions before setting off.

A12 · A13
Follow the A12 Inntal motorway to Innsbruck, then change to the A13 towards the Brenner Pass. Beyond the pass, the road continues directly as Italy’s A22.
A22
The Brenner motorway runs through South Tyrol past Bolzano, Trento, Lake Garda and Verona. Stay on the A22 towards Modena.
A1
At the Modena interchange, join the A1 towards Bologna and Firenze. Continue on the A1 as far as Firenze Nord.
A11
At Firenze Nord, take the A11 towards Pisa/Lucca. For the villa, follow live navigation to Viale Agostino Marti 405.
Vignettes and tolls
Rates and rules can change. Check the official operators’ latest information before every journey.
For the usual approach via the A12, cars up to 3.5 tonnes need an Austrian vignette. A separate section toll is charged for the A13 Brenner motorway. Both can be purchased digitally in advance.
Official ASFINAG informationOn Italian motorways, the toll is based on the distance travelled. Keep the entry ticket safe. You can pay by card in the appropriately marked lanes.

Look at current traffic conditions shortly before departure. A flexible start is especially worthwhile on holiday weekends.
Vipiteno, the Adige Valley and the Lake Garda area are pleasant places for a relaxed stop along the way.

Arriving in Lucca
